Lone Pine Interactive Experience and Shows

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers many interactive experiences and shows that your group, especially the kids will surely enjoy.

Holding a koala – It starts at 10am in the designated holding area at the centre of the Sanctuary. Photo tickets are available starting from $25 along with a high–resolution download if any guest would like to avail this service. Of course, they encourage taking photos using your personal devices, so be sure to snap away a lot of photos to have a souvenir on this once in a lifetime experience.

Hand feeding kangaroos and wallabies – The specially ordered pellet food for feeding kangaroos and wallabies, is available to purchase in the General Store. Once you already bought the special pellet food, start heading to the Kangaroo Reserve section. You will then have the opportunity to see and maybe feed about 150 free–ranging kangaroos and wallabies along with emus and wombats. The Kangaroo Reserve section is open from 9am until 4:30pm.

Feeding wild lorikeets – There are six Australian native lorikeet species and each have vivid colours that vary in shades and markings. You will get the chance to see and experience feeding these marvellous outgoing parrots in their natural environment. It is open daily from 9:45am to 4pm.

Sheepdog show – The respective schedules start at 11am, 1pm and 3:30pm. The show is fully commentated while their skilled handlers and the sheepdog, guide a herd of sheep in tp pass through different types of obstacles. After the show, you will get to meet the furry & woolly friends and can ask questions to the sheepdog handlers.

Flight raptor show – The show is a standout among others, it demonstrates the flying raptors hunting techniques and aerial skill maneuvers as they swoop at very high speed to grab food tossed in the air. Seeing these flying predators live in action is always amazing. Flying raptor show is at 12:30pm and has only one schedule per day.
