Christmas In Tasmania

Christmas In The City

The annual event of Christmas In The City is where the city of Launceston comes together to celebrate the launch of the festive season. The event takes places on Friday 17th December from six o’clock in the evening till nine o’clock.

This is where the lights will be switched on, on the Christmas tree in the Brisbane St Mall.

There will be some late night shopping and a free children’s activities in the Charles St & The Brisbane Street Mall, a special appearance by Santa, Christmas concert, plenty of food vendors and Santa himself will be turning on the lights!

Christmas Parade & Carols By Candlelight

The George Town Council will be hosting the Annual Christmas Parade which will be followed by Carols By Candlelight. This be a great event celebrating the festive season and the Christmas Parade theme will be ‘Christmas Wonderland’.

The event will be held on Saturday 2nd December from six o’clock in the evening which will be commencing with the parade. Carols by Candlelight will be held at regent Square and the music provided will be by local entertainment and students. THis will be from seven thirty onwards.

 

Myer Hobart Christmas Pageant

The Myer Hobart Christmas Pageant will be held on Saturday 18th November and starts at 10:30 am. This is to celebrate the beginning of the festive season this year in the City of Hobart.

This year, the special guests will include Peppa Pig and the local talent from the upcoming musical, Mary Poppins. The pageant will start with Peppa Pig aboard the Hobart’s Red Decker bus and they will be available for a meet and greet too! The Myer store is close by and there will also be an opportunity to meet with Santa.

The event will start from Liverpool Street which will travel down Liverpool, up towards Harrington Street and will finish at lower Collins Street.
