Visit Mullumbimby

Mullumbimby is situated at the foot of Mt. Chincogan next to the Brunswick River. It is a scenic town and it is known by the locals as Mullum. The road to get here is fantastic and there are plenty of winding country trails that offer stunning views across the hills.

There are a few places you can stop along the way such as Crystal Castle. This is a great stop as it is home to the biggest and most beautiful crystals in the world.

If you time it right on a Friday, you can visit the town’s bustling farmer’s market which is usually open from 7am to 11am. With food on offer and freshly brewed coffee, it is a great way to start the morning.

Brunswick Heads

North of Bryon Bay lies Brunswick Heads. If you have visited Mullumbimby then Brunswick Heads is not too far away.

Driving through the town you will pass many vintage and antique stores such as Clem’s Cargo and A Curious Collective and other local shops showcase second hand treasures and handcrafted items.

There is a lovely beach situated here, and north of the river hosts a beautiful rainforest. Towards the south, provides a harbour and a marina which is full of fishing boats and small craft.

 

Nimbin

Hidden away in the hill of Byron Bay, the town of Nimbin is known as one of Australia’s famous hippie destinations and alternative lifestyle capital.

It claimed its fame back in 1973 when it hosted the Aquarius Festival. It is also an intriguing place with its quirky unique mural of indigenous rainforest and stunning scenery.

Within the village you can also find an array of cafes and shops and interesting places such as Djanbung Permaculture Gardens, Rainbow Power Company and the Nimbin Candle Factory.
