Rugby League World Cup 2017
In 2017, the supreme Rugby League players from across the globe will all be descending upon Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea to compete for the sport’s most coveted prize - The Rugby League World Cup - from 27th Oct to 2nd Dec 2017.
The Teams
14 teams will gather together for a sporting festival without compare: Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, England, France Samoa, Fiji, Scotland, Tonga, Lebanon, USA, Wales, Ireland, and Italy.
The Nations will be all psyched up, to compete at the very highest level against both familiar and not so familiar opponents. It promises to be a feast of rugby and a sporting occasion to best others that have preceded it.
The Cities
The games will take place in thirteen cities across the three countries; seven in Australia, five in New Zealand and also in Port Moresby the capital of Papua New Guinea.
Taking the vast distances into consideration, most fans will look at the fixtures and choose a country to base themselves, that will feature their home team’s matches.
If you are an England fan then Australia is certainly where you want to be, Melbourne hosts the opening game of the 2017 World Cup with two of the hot favourites facing off as the mighty Australians take on the strongly improving England outfit.
England’s other two group games take them to Sydney on the 4th November to play rank outsiders Lebanon. Whilst on November 12th, England travel to Perth for a tricky match to possibly qualify for the Quarter Finals against France.
