Want To Know Where You Can Cuddle Baby Kangaroos?

Dear Everyone,

This is real.

There is a place in Australia where you can get up close with baby kangaroos and give them a little cuddle. Located in Alice Springs, Australia, The Kangaroo Sanctuary is a charity that adopts orphaned and stray kangaroos from around all of Australia. Those that they can rehabilitate will eventually be released and turned back into the wild when they are ready. Those who can’t, will be staying in the sanctuary.

If you are looking at visiting the Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs then contact Coach Hire Coach Hire who can assist you and your group with low cost, group transportation.

The Kangaroo Sanctuary

The Kangaroo Sanctuary is the home of Brolga and his Kangaroo family. If you have the opportunity to watch ‘’Kangaroo Dundee’’ on BBC/Nat Geo Documentary then you will know who they are.

The charity is run by the Kangaroo Dundee who is also known as Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns. He leads his visitors on guided expeditions through the sanctuary and teaches them about the care and rehabilitation of Kangaroos.

These tours are available throughout the 188 acre wildlife reserve and you can experience a leisurely walk on your guided sunset tour.

At the sanctuary the kangaroos come first and as they sleep all day, they cannot be disturbed. That is why the tours are in the afternoon just as they are about to wake up from their daytime nap.

The tour lasts for around three hours and here you will be able to hold a baby kangaroo. But make sure you pre-book and tours are limited to 30 guests. Be quick, they sell out fast!

The Kangaroo Hospital

“The Kangaroo hospital has been a dream of mine for over a decade” says Chris, and he has always seen a need for the hospital within the centre of Australia as the nearest one is almost 1,500 km away.

The Kangaroo Hospital can provide all the specialist care possible for these kangaroos and it is also a great place where many of the baby orphans will be cared for and raised by the volunteer carers too.

The Kangaroo Hospital has been built from kind donations from caring people around the world. The building foundations were laid in mid 2015 and the hospital is now in its first stages of operation.

We have raised over $100,000 AUD to date which has gone towards: building the hospital, fencing, plumbing, and solar power. We have a long way to go and future plans include: rehabilitation facilities to prepare kangaroos for the wild; specialist veterinarian equipment, rescue vehicle, and education programs about the care and rescue of kangaroos.
