The Melbourne Museum was originally located in the State Library Building until 1997. The museum moved to a new building in Nicholson Street, Carlton Gardens on the 21st of October 2000.
The Scienceworks of Melbourne is overflowing with things and ideas to challenge everyone's curious minds. It first opened its doors to the public in 1992 showcasing applied technology of the gigantic machines, vast collections of immersive exhibitions, electrifying theatre in the Lightning room, and the deep space of the Melbourne Planetarium. Scienceworks is located in Spotswood, Victoria and across the century–old historic Pumping Station.
