Group Camping Tours Sunshine Coast – Dicky Beach

If the thought of pitching a tent in the backyard doesn’t quite cut it, but you don’t necessarily want to leave town so the kids can experience a bit of holiday camping fun, look no further than Dicky Beach in Caloundra.

Close to amenities like shops, which are just across the road, and the beach, Dicky Beach is an ideal way to ease into a group camping tour of the Sunshine Coast. Or it makes for a great weekend camping destination in its own right.

Group Camping Tours Sunshine Coast – Noosa North Shore Beach Campground

Located right on the beach beside the Noosa River with national park all around, the Noosa North Shore Beach Campground is an idyllic camping spot close to town. It’s still far enough out though to give the impression of remoteness and tranquillity.

You can pitch your tent wherever you want to. Right up close to the beach behind the dunes or out in the open area. Amenities though are basic so it’s more suited to self-sufficient campers. Particularly campers who enjoy surfing, fishing, beach walking and a spot of bush walking through the national park.

The campsite is very popular with 4Wdrivers. The beach here runs all the way up to Double Island and Fraser Island, which makes for a great day of beach driving!

Group Camping Tours Sunshine Coast – Boreen Point, Noosa

Lake Cootharaba is a large lake just north of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. It’s the site of one of the area’s most popular camping grounds at Boreen Point.

A major attraction of the camping site is its location in natural bushland, coupled with the opportunity to go fishing and sailing on the lake. Like many of the camping sites around the Sunshine Coast, there is a national park close handy for nature lovers as well.

A section of the foreshore along the lake is restricted to tents only but there are also powered sites elsewhere for vans and RVs. There is a camp kitchen with BBQs available too.

Group Camping Tours Sunshine Coast – Charlie Moreland, Sunshine Coast Hinterland

After spending a night or two at a camping ground right in town, group camping tourers can head inland to Charlie Moreland on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The Mt Allan fire tower offers 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding Conondale Ranges.

Nearby is Kenilworth, a charming Queensland town with an award winning cheese factory. The cheese is made from milk produced by local dairy cows. For the bargain hunters in the group, there is also a second hand shop you can’t miss.

Camping at Charlie Moreland offers a somewhat rustic experience, as it’s all pretty basic with few amenities. But that’s what real camping is all about, right? Take in the plentiful bird life in the neighbouring Conondale National Park. Or hike in to check out the old gold mine in the area.

Group Camping Tours Sunshine Coast – Cedar Grove Camping, Gympie

From Charlie Moreland you can pack up camp and head a bit further north on your group camping tour from the Sunshine Coast. There are a couple of camping sites within the Amamoor National Park just south of Gympie. Both are located on the creek of the same name.

On the western edge of the park is the Amamoor Creek Camping area. East of it, and in the middle of the park, is the Cedar Grove camping area. This camping site features massive hoop pines, wide-open grassy sites that are ideal for pitching a tent, and the charm of Amamoor Creek bubbling past.

The surrounding bushland is full of native birds and walking trails that let you get right up close to the flora and fauna of the park.

From beach to bush, rolling surf to calm lake waters, there’s no shortage of options for great group camping tours on the Sunshine Coast. And when you are ready to book your Sunshine Coast coach charter, then let CoachHire get you to where you want to go safely and in comfort.
