Group Golfing Tours Tasmania - Woodrising

Woodrising is a championship standard, 18-hole course in Spreyton, Devonport. It’s close to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. This makes it a great course for beginning, or finishing, group golfing tours in Tasmania.

The course is situated on a peninsula with a spectacular out look over the Mersey River. It has rolling tree-lined fairways that are deceptively flat looking, well-maintained greens and plenty of bunkers.

Group Golfing Tours Tasmania – Poatina Golf Course

Poatina is a small town in the north of Tasmania around 60 kilometres west of the Launceston CBD. It was originally commissioned to accommodate workers building the Great Lake Power Scheme and Poatina Power Station. Once those were completed the town remained and today is home to around 100 permanent residents.

It’s also the location of Poatina Golf Course, a very pretty, 9-hole golf course with 18 tees. The course is a par 73 and can be a challenge for golfers. The clubhouse is licensed and regularly hosts social functions and golfing competitions.

Group Golfing Tours Tasmania – Freycinet Golf Course

If you’re heading south to Hobart stop in at the Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania’s east coast for a spot of camping, why not pack the golf clubs and take in a game of golf at the Freycinet Golf Course. Sited on the picturesque peninsula adjacent to the Freycinet National Park, the tight 18-hole course is a par 72.

There are plenty of trees along the fairways with man-made lakes and of course the ever-present views of the national park, Oyster Bay and the Swan River. You can also take in the magnificence of Wineglass Bay and the Hazards, the granite mountain range at whose feet the course is located.

Group Golfing Tours Tasmania - Rosny Park Public Golf Course

Conveniently situated only 10 minutes from the Hobart CBD is Rosny Park Public Golf Course. The 9-hole course is owned by the YMCA and is available to the public 7 days a week. There are also chipping and putting practise areas along with a clubhouse that serves excellent coffee, and a professional golf coach.

This is a great course for a quick round of golf at any time of the day, or week. Eastlands Shopping Centre is conveniently next-door for more extensive refreshments and sustenance.

Group Golfing Tours Tasmania – The Huon Valley Golf Course

The Huon Valley Golf Course consists of 12 holes right on the banks of the Huon River in Huonville in Tasmania’s southwest. This is true wilderness country, where ancient alpine forests remain much as they have been for many thousands of years.

However, Huonville is also conveniently close to Hobart so a quick trip for a round of golf on this parkland style, very charming and lush golf course is a must on any golfing tours of Tasmania. It has raised greens that can be tricky to play and tees that require accuracy if you’re to make par.

These and many other golfing gems await you on your group golfing tours of Tasmania. Along with magnificent scenery, historic villages, ancient forests, rugged coast lines and more.
